# How do I set dnslink? ipfs

Really good explanation. This is eerily similar to how CDN’s work (the ipns lookup can be thought as a cachekey on a CDN). Weird question are [ipfs.io](http://ipfs.io)’s gateway IPs anycast?

I don’t understand why [ipfs.io](http://ipfs.io) works when I’m not running an IPFS node if the DNS record is pointing to my ipfs http gateway.
