Hi everyone, I’m preparing a talk on IPFS and Web3 more generally to Canadian legislators. I’d like to know about you: how should legislators and government officials care about Web3? How should they approach it? Any input is welcome! Thanks
I would think the most important topic to cover with them is how web3 could impact identity and privacy. Done right web3 can really empower individual citizens to own their data and control it. If they can find ways to support the potential positives this entails without stifling it in any potential battles with the web2.0 behemoths that would be good. I think actually encouraging web3 by leveling the playing field is better than outright legislation trying to punish web2 giants.
