Hashberg: A Content Addressing Architectures Summit (Berlin, 11 June 2025)

Join us for an intimate, 1-day event to collaborate on critical topics across the IPFS ecosystem!
This summit brings together IPFS service providers, protocol designers, implementation maintainers, and developers of midsize and large content-addressed apps.

We’ll begin with a short kickoff to establish key themes and organize the working sessions for the day. The majority of the day will be spent in working sessions. Proposed sessions include:

  • ATProto Data Plumbing: What do app builders need for ATProto data formats (not just CIDs, but TIDs and DIDs), services, and interfaces? What plumbing would unlock more interoperability and economies of scale?

  • IPFS Beyond Gateways: See service worker gateways in action, learn about upcoming browser support, and plan for a less gateway-centric future. How can we shift most network traffic to direct P2P, and how quickly?

  • Improving CID Advertising and Routing: Review what works and what doesn’t with IPNI and DHT today, and discuss next steps for finding content across the IPFS Amino public network.

  • Private and Collaborative Networks: Learn about running private and collaborative IPFS networks, and identify missing tooling.

  • The State of Transports and Links (HTTP & beyond): See who’s supporting HTTP now and who will be soon, how URL schemes and link mechanisms work across networks, and evaluate ways to pass provider hints and extend support for both hardcoded URLs and distributed routers.

  • Rigour and Quality Metrics for IPFS: What is today’s state of the art for measuring IPFS performance and quality? How should instrumentation and monitoring evolve in 2025 and beyond?

Details and registration are on Luma. Questions, suggestions, and discussion are welcome in this thread.
