if using fixed chunks of 32 bytes, would the structure of the links be bigger than the file ?
You are right, Yes it would a link is 40~60 bytes big (including overhead + hash), that why you should use --inline if you dont mind a smaller retro compat. This inline <= 32 bytes blocks.
The default blocksize is 256Kib so I dont really understand your question.
