Currently, when using RAG services like OpenAI’s GPTs, users must upload their valuable data to centralized third-party servers. In return, they receive a bot capable of answering questions based on that data, provided they pay for the service.
What if we replicated this system on IPFS? Instead of feeding big tech companies and widening inequities, we could create a powerful RAG on IPFS that allows users to earn whenever the system utilizes their data.
Anyone could upload data, which the system could then vectorize and store in a decentralized vector database. This would replicate the functionality of current RAGs but in a decentralized, user-empowering manner.
Has anyone explored this idea?
