How to remove .json from the end of each file in a folder?

I am trying to create the metadata for an ERC721.
When I upload a folder of json files using piñata, each being named (0.json, 1.json, 2.json etc.)

I use the CID from the folder upload as the base URI on the contract.

My problem is when I mint tokens from the contract the token URI ends up being : gateway/CID/ but my json files live at gateway/CID/.json

How do I remove the .json from the the end on the ipfs link?
