IPFS / Scuttlebutt protocol similarities and complementarity

Looking for a social application, I found scuttlebutt (also scuttlebot.io).

Using it. Analyzing it. It is obviously very close to what ipfs is.

Now specialized in public / private message exchange through Web of trust (WOT) replication

But extendable to many other applications.

I really like bottom-up right management, pub gossip, offline functionality and philosophy.

ipfs is best at data management (with on demand replication and pin) and de-duplication. It is data centered. Meanwhile Scuttlebutt is people centered.

Why not try to mix them together…

“ssb gateway” are giving access to message and file attachments that could be accessible through “ipfs gateway”… Still exploring both Universe
