Status of Rust IPFS

The repo GitHub - rs-ipfs/rust-ipfs: The InterPlanetary File System (IPFS), implemented in Rust. is archived and there is not a lot of info about why this project is abandoned.

The domain areweipfsyet.rs is abandoned and its repo archived as well, you can still read it on https://bafybeihfjkj5wbhsapmz3b3hak63pi6ia4z3w2nqpgh53gd43nqyo3zd7e.ipfs.dweb.link/.

Does anybody have more info about the status of this project? I would be interested to keep working on it but it is better if we concentrate the effort on a single repo than plenty of forks.

The last attempt I’m aware of was GitHub - n0-computer/beetle by the Iroh team. See iroh & IPFS - Iroh and A new direction for iroh - Iroh for more info why they stopped maintaining it.
