IPFSdroid as an IPFS node

Just for fun, I tried using my phone as an IPFS node and uploaded a pic…was able to view it on a PC using https. Worked quite well. :slight_smile:

Nice! I’m glad it worked for you.

FYI, we’re also working on quite a few things that will make this much better (it will currently drain your battery pretty quickly if you run it in the background):

  1. Connection closing (coming within ~1 weak) will reduce the number of open connections (bandwidth, less memory, less CPU usage).
  2. Relays (partially implemented but still in progress) will allow us to stay connected to many nodes without having to keep open TCP connections to each. This should help significantly (we should be able to reduce the number of background open connections to ~10).
