Unable to share file using IPFS (Solved)

OS: Windows 10 64 bit
Version: go-ipfs_v0.4.18_windows-amd64
Browser: Opera

Daemon is already running and I have the web interface running http://localhost:5001/webui.

I’ve added a 20KB picture using the “+Add to IPFS” button as it might show on the screenshot below.

The file was uploaded successfully and I can see it on the WebUI if I click on it. Everything good.

The problem is when trying to share this file, I can select it and get a link to share it, but this link won’t work.

I just get the "THIS SITE CAN’T BE REACHED"error in my browser.

Can anyone see if I’m doing anything wrong?
Does the file take some time to propagate around the peers?
I don’t know, please share your thoughts.

Is port 4001 open in your router so that your IPFS node can be reached by other peers?

Great contribution Leerspace.

The port was not open, I’ve created the port forwarding rule on my router’s dashboard for that port and now that it is open, the file loads. Thank you!
